AUTHORITY:

The Total Army Recruitment Platform (TARP) website is provided as a public service by the Department of The Army, under the authority of the Department of War. The collection of personally identifiable information through this website is authorized by 10 U.S.C. Section 3013, Secretary of the Army.

 

PRINCIPAL PURPOSE:

The primary purpose of TARP is to provide information about career opportunities within the Department of the Army and to allow interested candidates to apply for Direct Hire positions. Your information is collected to assess your qualifications and process your employment application.

How We Use Your Information (Routine Uses)

The information you provide is used solely for employment assessment purposes. In this context, your PII may be shared with other government agencies as follows:

  • Office of Personnel Management (OPM): If you complete an online application, your information is shared with OPM, which is authorized by law (5 U.S.C. §§ 1302, 3301, 3304) to rate applicants for federal jobs. 
  • Other Federal, State, and Local Agencies: We may share your name and address with other government agencies, public offices, or international organizations if they request names of individuals to consider for employment.
  • Educational Institutions: If you are selected for a federal job, we may notify your school's placement office.

The Department of the Army may also use your PII to request additional information about you as permitted by law for employment, security, and statistical purposes. These statistics will not personally identify you.

Voluntary Disclosure

Providing your personal information, including your Social Security Number, is voluntary. 

 However, please be aware that failing to provide the requested information will prevent us from processing your application.
